We’re building the first European Investment API to enable any financial institution to offer a broad range of investment products in their apps. Our view is backed by Europe's largest tech VCs (Earlybird, Notion Capital, Partech, HV Capital, ABN AMRO Ventures) and by renowned fintech entrepreneurs (including Maximilian Tayenthal, founder of N26, and Felix Haas, founder of IDnow).


We’re based in Berlin but would consider hiring remotely for this role. If you do want to move to Berlin though, we’re happy to support your relocation.

Tooling team's mission:
As an investment bank, there are a lot of processes that we need to support in the background. The tooling team is responsible for collaborating with the Product Managers from the Operations and Product teams in figuring out what kind of automation is needed in those processes and the type of tooling to build for our Ops and CS colleagues. These can take many forms: from web dashboards to chatbots to things we may not have yet considered. It is up to the team and their Product Managers to figure it out with their stakeholders following our key principle: automating as much as possible with reasonable effort.


Your mission:

Join as member #6 of our scaling product team, and work alongside Upvest’s product leadership team Til Rochow (CPO), Mislav Ilich (Product Lead) and Thomas Etheber (Head of Investor & Marketplace Solutions) in building our greenfield Investment API. You'll build a fintech API-first product, help to empower an engineering squad to reach its full potential, and you'll have the opportunity to shape the strategy & roadmap for Upvest’s current or future products.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Act as a Senior Product Manager in a dedicated Product Engineering team with support from a Product Lead.

  • Set up tooling team strategy/roadmap, prioritize features for launch scope and collaborate with operations and legal to define key tooling processes.

  • Work closely with the team’s Tech Lead and facilitate team rituals, manage the backlog and refine product input to our dual-track agile process.

  • Collaborate with Upvest’s internal and external stakeholders, forming relationships with our engineering, growth, compliance, and legal teams.

  • Start building rapport with key vendors.

  • Establish a good understanding of requirements and future needs of Upvest’s customers, operations department, and product personas with a research-driven, customer-first, data-informed approach.

  • Provide input on relevant OKRs and KPIs to align product outcomes with Upvest’s business objectives and make Product success actionable and measurable.

  • Assist the product team with research and documentation on relevant assigned topics.

  • Assist the team with operational tasks such as onboarding and offboarding of clients, compliance, growth and marketing related tasks.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration/Finance or relevant and sufficient practical experience.
  • 3+ years experience acting as a product manager ideally setting up client or internal tooling in financial services.

  • Experience with agile software development methodologies.

  • Technical background with a deep understanding of concepts such as authentication, authorization, and webhooks.

  • Experience in financial services or FinTech (Big plus).

  • Experience with Linear (or other ticketing systems, e.g. Jira), and Slite (or other documentation software, e.g. Confluence)
